About Elara

Saxophonist / Producer / Songwriter

Yorkshire based Elara has shared the stage with artists such as Eats Everything, Sam Divine, Dave Lee, Siggy Smalls, Michael Gray, Roni Size, Bob Sinclair and many more. She has played for Glitterbox, Defected, Our House, ITV, Sky, London Fashion Week, Depop and toured the world performing in over 21 countries. 

Her original work has received regular support from the BBC, Ben Robinson (Kendal Calling, Bluedot) and Louder than War.

In the studio she has worked with producers such as Steve Chrisanthou (Put Your Records On), Rob Late, Craig Harrison (Ibiza Rocks), Andy Buchan (Hot Gorilla Records) and father of Chicago house Roy Davis Jnr. 

The second single Burnin’, released by the Saxophonist who turned to producing in the 2020 lockdowns was a co-write with acclaimed songwriter ‘Sash Sings’ . This received support from BBC introducing, launching Elara as ‘fresh face’ and receiving spins for the opening of International Women’s Week. 

Elara is continuing to release music and the level of production improves with each track. The multi instrumentalist uses live instruments where possible then mixing in electronic components to form her alt-pop sound. Horns and strong bass lines feature heavily in her future funk work and she is passionate about bringing back live music and full band line ups to the industry.

The band is currently rehearsing in Leeds preparing for 2022. Performing solo Elara debuted her latest track 'Killing Time', out in January with Overflow, at the O2 academy Leeds and is set to hold the main stage at Rise festival this December lending her versatility to opening for both Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Shy Fx.

Remixes from Ocean Beach, Ibiza rocks DJ Craig Harrison and Hot Gorilla Records’ Andy Buchan are out now. Along with the fifth single Dead of Night, about cutting your teeth as a lass in the industry.
